Here are 5 unhealthy oils that consider cardiologist warning against heart disease. It may be time to consider the alternatives.

Palm oil raises LDL ("bad" cholesterol) which then increases your risk of heart disease. Consider swapping it with olive oil or mustard oil while cooking.

Vanaspati is used in fried snacks and bakery items and may lead to artery clogging. Consider using ghee or cold-pressed oils instead.

Corn oil has the ability to create inflammation and if consumed excessively may increase the risk of cardiovascular events. If you want to use corn oil consider using sunflower or groundnut oil instead.

Although soybean oil has been marketed as a healthy oil, too much can raise your bad cholesterol and affect your heart health. Go for canola or sesame oil instead.

Cottonseed oil frequently contains pesticide residues and is high in unhealthy fats. Try to choose safer oils such as extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil.

Limit your palm oil, vanaspati, corn, soybean, and cottonseed oils. Use olive oil, mustard oil, sesame oil, or groundnut (peanut) oil to be a bit smarter and protect your heart!
