Pink eye is an inflammation of the thin, clear layer covering your eye.

It causes redness, itching, swelling, and discharge, often due to bacteria, viruses, or allergies.

For 5 to 10 minutes, place a clean, cold, damp cloth over the closed eye. It alleviates inflammation, itching, and redness.

If discharge is a problem, a warm compress helps loosen crusts and soothes discomfort. Apply it gently for 5–10 minutes a few times daily.

Being anti-inflammatory, aloe vera soothes irritation. Put a tiny amount of pure aloe vera gel around the eyelid (not close to the eyeball).

Soak chamomile tea bags in warm water, cool somewhat, and place on the eyes for about 10 minutes. It helps soothe irritation and may help reduce infection.

Use sterile saline solution to rinse your eyes. It flushes out irritants and bacteria. Avoid tap water and always use clean, safe solutions.
